Q13: Is it wrong to sell old, rare goods?

A13: It is not wrong to sell rare goods since there are some service to sell those anime goods. If you want to sell it on Mercari or other platforms that you will trade directly with the costomer, you might need to be careful not to sell the product too expensive.

Q16: Is reselling currently a legal issue under Japanese law?

A16: Reselling itself is not a legal problem. However, in Japan there is a law that restricts ticket resell and there is the second-hand dealer license from the previous post.

Q17: Are there any international laws that restrict reselling in other countries?

A17: There are no laws that restricts reselling in countries other than Japan. (June, 2025) In America, there was a bill to restrict what is called bot buying. A bot buying is a method of online shopping by using a program that makes purchase automaticaly. This could be a law to restrict reselling indirectly.

Q20: Does someone need to sell a certain quantity of goods to be considered as a reseller?

A20: For those who want to be resellers, good news. A reseller doesn't have to buy a lot of goods and resell them to be a reseller. Reselling items that are restricted to resale makes a person a reseller.

Q26: From the perspective of government, what do they think about the existence of resellers?

A26: According to the data from the Ministry of International Affairs and Communications, the government seems to have an awareness, however the only actions they take is to instruct the sellers to come up and take some measures.
