  1. I found the survey results very interesting because they show how divided people are on the topic of reselling. While over half said they would not buy from resellers, a noticeable number still said they would—or might—if the product is limited or in an emergency. This shows that consumer behavior is complex and that even people who dislike resellers might unintentionally support them.

What I found especially surprising is that more people said they would not report prohibited listings (Q8). This suggests that while many people are against reselling, they are hesitant to take action. For further research, I think it would be helpful to explore why people hesitate to report and how platforms could make that process easier or more anonymous. Also, comparing Japan’s reseller trends with other countries could help identify cultural or systemic differences.

  2. I was very surprised that in this survey, question 1, “If you really wanted something, would you buy it, even from a reseller?” I was very surprised that 30% of the respondents answered yes because they really wanted something.
There was a time in my own past when I really wanted something. It wasn't sold in stores, only resold.
I noticed, however, that the items sold by resellers were extremely overpriced, and I stopped buying them because I felt foolish buying them. Therefore, I was surprised to find that there were more people buying goods from resellers than I had expected.(Chiharu)
